adventures in gardening

a place where a modest hoe meets a rusty shovel

Okay, so I'm not, what you call, garden-savvy, nor am I very experienced in the subject...BUT, I love getting my hands dirty, carefully transporting the plant to its new location, and then just watching it grow into a beauty...Well...Hopefully! Just a little background here...My soon-to-be ex-husband and I purchased our first home on 06/28/2006. It came with a few bushes/trees, two sad grapevines, some weeds, and balding grass.

08/30/07 - Ya know that little tomato plant? It is now an enormous bush, full of perfect, little tomatoes! I'm collecting anywhere from 10 to 25 some days!!!

07/10/07 - Hey, a little tomato plant is growing between the wood in the deck's floor!

04/27/07 - I am one sick woman!!! How do I stop the insanity?! I just can't help it. I keep buying more plants and seeds. My mother did warn me it was going to happen. Gardening Fever. It's horrible.

04/25/07 - O, I've been very naughty! I went back to Home Depot and got more plants!!! Rudbeckia, eucomis, and seeds: echinacea, forget-me-nots, and mammoth sunflower.

04/20/07 - Sooo, here's what I've planted so far...lilly of the valley, peonies, astilbe, hostas, ivies, liatris, ferns, dahlias, clematis, raspberries, (yummies), strawberries (double yummies), tomatoes (juicy!!!), and hot peppers (gotta have some spice)
